lately, i’ve been obsessing over macarons. i’ve only ever had them once (and they were from trader joe’s so i don’t think that actually counts) but i wanted more. for the longest time, there hasn’t been any place in the RI area, at least to my knowledge, where i could actually purchase a macaron. that problem no longer exists, thanks to ellie’s bakery.
located in the biltmore garage, which is host to a number of other great shops and eateries that have yet to open, ellie’s is amazing. not only was i able to get the macarons i so desired, they also had a variety of other goodies. cinnamon buns, croissants, muffins… i’m not quite sure if i ordered coherently or not. i may have just grunted and pointed at items, i was so stunned by all of the pastries.

i left the bakery with a cinnamon bun (the perfect hit of sweetness with the flaky goodness of a croissant) and some macarons. i went for the salted caramel (seriously, heaven), dark chocolate (so decadent), and strawberry (fresh and delightful). i seriously can’t wait to go back and try more of their treats! rumor has it their sandwiches approach greatness. you bet i’ll be trying one next time i stop there!

Yummy! I’ve been hoping to check out that bakery! I’ll stop by today thanks to your recommendation :)
it’s so good! i hope you enjoyed it when you went! i can’t wait to go back and try out some more pastries. :)
OMG. This place sounds amazing! I haven’t had macaroons before, but I’ve heard from many people that they’re delicious. Hopefully a bakery will come to my area soon and have them so I can try them out!
kory, they’re delicious! if ever you get the chance to try one, do it! i went back this past weekend to get more macarons but they didn’t have any. i did grab a spicy chocolate tart which was unbelievable but i was totally bummed i didn’t leave with any macarons.
Love macarons–they’re delicious, but also just so cute. Get yourself up to NYC and get some from Laduree, girl!
