after interning at blogshop i was super inspired but also realized that i kinda have a lot of work to do to make my blog even better than what it is currently. i’ve been working a little bit each night trying to figure out what i can do for content and how i can make this a really inspirational and exciting space.
i received an email yesterday from ashley of blog a la cart about a workshop that she and kate drew miller are running in march. it’s called camera ready and it’s all about learning how to use your dslr in manual mode as well as styling shoots, using lightroom, lighting in various situations and lots of other super useful and exciting things! i have spent far too long using my iphone as my one way to capture images for my blog and it just isn’t cutting it for me anymore. i used to know how to shoot manually… although i used a film camera instead of digital and knew all about bracketing, exposure, shutter speed… all of that good stuff! since i stopped shooting years ago, i’ve lost all of that knowledge and am SO CLUELESS when it comes to manual mode now (and to think i almost minored in photography!).
i’m excited to be a part of this workshop and can’t wait to finally shoot some decent photos that haven’t been taken on my iPhone! you can sign up for the saturday or sunday class if you also need a crash course in photography! let’s hope the whole aperture thing finally clicks this time (no pun intended!).
