happy monday! as most of you know, the northeast dealt with quite the snow storm over the weekend. i’m one of the crazy few who absolutely LOVES the snow. i get all sorts of giddy when i hear we might have snow showers so i was super excited when they announced the “b” word: blizzard! now, i’m not down with the fact that it knocked out power and there are still people without it right now… and i think i would be much less happy about things if we had lost power ourselves but we were super lucky to have avoided that one.
anyway, i wanted to share some photos of my snow adventure. pete and i had ventured out friday night during the height of the storm and it was crazy… i think we were outside for maybe five minutes and when we got inside, my glasses were frosted over and it felt like we had an inch of snow all over our coats and hats. when we awoke on saturday, there had to be a good two feet of fluffy white snow out there. we went for a stroll and i was greatly reminded of calvin and hobbes, the cartoon, when we were walking through the drifts that were up past my knee. i seriously haven’t seen this much snow in ages! there was lots of hot cocoa and we also went sledding… although i have to say, i don’t remember sledding being quite so scary or having to bail out and white wash myself as a kid… nor do i remember going down a hill and hitting a jump and catching air. so exhilarating!!
i also finally had time to put together my stationery academy scholarship application and send out pete’s redesign so that we can start to print letterpress business cards for him (we’re so close to having all of the rebranded materials in place!). i think i also relaxed for once, which i haven’t done in a long time. i really wouldn’t mind another snow day but i guess it’s okay that i have to head back into work today. ;)
for those of you who also experienced the storm, what did you do during your snow day? and for those of you who didn’t, what’s your idea of an awesome snow day?

We got around two feet as well, up near Boston, and I didn’t go outside except to shovel! I was way too cozy inside with my wine & season three of Modern Family :) I would have gone sledding, but I don’t own a sled haha. -Stephanie
I am so jealous of your snowy weekend! It looks so fun (except for the no power part).
I’m from the desert so this blizzard was an incredible experience for me! We did lose power for 24 hours and weren’t all that prepared but I had a lot of fun. We took a walk on Saturday (and slept most of the day!). I couldn’t believe the amount of snow.
i loved the snowstorm the northeast got a couple years ago like a week before christmas. i was visiting my parents in jersey. that’s the last time i experienced a lot of snow — washington dc snowstorms are crap! and yet people still FREAK OUT. i mean, it’s ridiculous. i’m envious of your super awesome snow day, but yes, i hope everyone gets power back soon…that is not good…
